Principal's Message

Dear Marina High School Families,

Since I know there is a very good chance you did not stop working last week, my hope is for your scholar to have had a restful and fulfilling Fall Break and that they helped you at home more than usual since they had a week off. If they didn't, you know I have Saturday School lined up for them (wink, wink).

Seriously, though, since I too worked through the break this past week, I was able to reflect on a number of things, especially about the importance of listening to you, to your scholar, and to our staff.

You might have received reminders to help us by providing your input so this week, I want to take the opportunity to invite you to participate in this year's YouthTruth Survey. On-the-ground insights and survey results will provide the District with the unique perspectives of our scholars, families and staff as central forces in decision-making and planning to build on our happy and healthy school system to increase academic achievement. It is more important than ever to fully understand our scholars' perceptions and gain information about their well-being. The same can be said for our our families. Since our scholars and staff already took their surveys, we would like to hear from you.

Once we complete the surveys, our District will have access to the collected data in a variety of reporting options and summaries. The data will be sorted in various ways and reports will support our school teams in planning to support the needs of scholars, families and staff as we build on our healthy school system to increase academic achievement. The survey is completely anonymous, which means no one will know how you answered the questions. Your responses to each question will be combined with the responses of everyone else taking the survey.

Please begin thinking now about what type of feedback you would like to share - both positive and constructive criticism is useful and valued. To participate in the survey, please use
this link.

Thank you in advance for taking the time to share your thoughts so that we can better understand your experience. Your voice matters and we are grateful for your feedback.

Let's continue our partnership and let's have a great week.
