Administration's Message

Greetings Mariners,

Greeting Mariner Families,

We are looking forward to an incredible 2023 - 2024 school year at Marina High School. Over the summer, facilities staff has done a wonderful job of deep cleaning, repairing, and moving resources so that we can maximize the spaces and classrooms on campus. We are excited to announce our Digital Music and Production CTE pathway is in the preparation stages of building a recording studio, the new sports complex will break ground in February, and the amount of different MPC classes offered has increased for the third straight year.

Marina High School has many initiatives designed to prepare our scholars for a successful transition to adulthood. Last year, the Eleventh Grade mentorship program was an overwhelming success. Scholars built relationships with volunteer community members and stakeholders. The mentors were able to meet with our juniors on five separate occasions, carrying on meaningful conversations and providing wisdom based on real world experiences and perspectives.  Our partnership with MPC is stronger than ever. Within the graduating class of 2023, we had two scholars who graduated with their AA degrees, and three that met the general education requirements for the first two years of college (IGETC).

Marina High’s CTE program has continued to outperform itself. Our Culinary classes began a mutually beneficial internship program with Pebble Beach resorts. Our Health and Wellness program hosted several guest speakers and continued to participate through a virtual Honduras internship where scholars shadowed doctors, nurses, and medical professionals. And our Digital Music and Production classes hosted presentations by industry professionals and visited recording studios to witness their craft in action.

On July 19th we will hold our Freshman Orientation here at Marina High School from 10:00 am - 12:00  pm.  We encourage all freshmen to attend this event as there will be a campus tour and fun games hosted by our ASB and Link Crew scholars.  The orientation will end with a short walk to the Marina Teen Center for a free BBQ.

Please join me in welcoming our new PE teacher Ms. Shanan McFall, Spanish teacher Mr. Lucas Bugarin, Math and ASB teacher Mr. Nathan Santana, Photography teacher Mr. Sean Ponsi, and English teacher Ms. Kelly Starnes.

As a reminder parents/guardians returning to Marina High School will need to log in to their ParentVue account and complete their Returning to School Packet by clicking on the Online Registration button.  Please make sure to complete the forms for your scholar in ParentVue before August 1st so they can receive their schedule on time. If you have any questions about registration or enrollment, please contact our Registrar, Ms. Stephanie Boucher at (831) 583-2060 ext3787 or [email protected]

Thank you for taking the time to review this important information. We look forward to a fantastic year together and GOOOOOOOOOOO MARINERS!

Fondly,
