It has been developed out of a historical background of over 100 years in schools across the state of California. The program is oriented around improving citizenship skills. It emphasizes respect, self-discipline, personal responsibility, leadership and teamwork. CACC gives students a practical application of leadership and citizenship instruction. Cadets pride themselves in setting high standards of behavior. Physical fitness is stressed as a way of life. Cadets receive PE credit for the course until the PE graduation requirement is met; then they receive elective credit.
