How will this course help me be College and Career Ready?
Knowing Spanish or any other language is a valuable asset to support you in college and career readiness. Not only will you be able to apply another language to all industries, you will connect yourself with millions of people around your world and build a sense of global competence.
How will I be graded?
You will be graded in a standards based approach focusing on the three modes of communication (Interpersonal, Interpretive, and Presentational) as well as Intercultural context. These objectives are in alignment with the California World Language standards, ACTFL standards/benchmarks, as well as the standards addressed in the rubrics for the AP Spanish Language and Culture course.
How will I receive feedback on my progress?
You will receive feedback on google classroom, written on physical assignments, one-on-one meetings, parent teacher conferences, and progress reports. There will also be opportunities to give feedback to your peers, yourselves, and also me as a teacher as we check in throughout the school year.
What will success look like in this course?
Success looks like taking risks at all points in the language learning process. This means that you try out the concepts you are learning in experimental ways and apply them proactively.
What do I do if I need help in this course?
Scholars are able to enter the classroom for extra support during lunch and their flex class. I have an open door policy where you are able to come to me with any struggles or concerns you might have with the coursework. Just communicate with me beforehand so I can best support you with this course.

A third level of Spanish is designed to reinforce and expand knowledge and skills well beyond the competence level expected of students in Spanish II. Listening, speaking, reading and writing skills well beyond the competence level expected of students in Spanish II. Listening, speaking, reading and writing skills are emphasized with additional emphasis of the diverse cultures and traditions of the Spanish-speaking world and Hispanic/Latino communities in the United States.
